"The swing over looking the field"

2010 June 3

"The swing overlooking the field" Commissioned by the City of Perth, Howard Lane, Western Australia. June 2010. The work is linked to WesFarmers history [as it's located on the rear of the WesFarmers building] & their early beginnings in June 1914 as the Westralian Farmers Co-operative and for most of its early history was primarily involved with the provision of services and merchandise to Western Australia's rural community. Its early operations included wool and wheat merchandising, grain and fruit exporting, oil distribution to rural areas, [as well as Western Australia’s first public radio station]. Swings, mostly made by, or for children is representative of a place of imagination a place that whilst it does oversee the land we live on is also a place for creating games & planning futures.
